Snow in March!!!

There’s a lesson to be learned! If a culture teaches you that it’s okay to kill babies while they are still in the womb, then we shouldn’t be surprised when they feel it’s okay to do it outside the womb as well:

A lesson in culture

The time is finally here. Rachel is in labor and Allen is with my parents, and all the aunts and uncles over in that neck of the woods.
We are told the baby is in a good position, as opposed to Allen (he was posterior). Every thing looks good at this point, and we give God the praise for it.
I borrowed my sister’s D80 so I should be able to get some good pictures!
I plan to post an update with pictures here when the baby is born. Stay tuned…

Labor!

I can’t remember the last time I actually waited as long as possible to get gas because I knew it was only going to get cheaper.
So far, I’m having a hard time feeling bad about this economic downturn…

My new car (55,000 miles), decides it cannot strike at my finances mechanically, it being so new and all. So it went and found probably the only rock flying around on the Interstate and ran right into it.
Little rock at 70 mph equals cracked windshield.
I didn’t actually get a picture of it after it spread, but I did get initial pics:

That cost me $250.00 to get the windshield replaced.

Vacation To-Do List

About the van… yeah… well…
The van started missing really badly… I mean really badly! We took it in to the shop, and to make a long story short, the cost of fixing the van was going to be upward of $1500.00. Not the kind of money we wanted to sink into a vehicle with 250,000 miles on it.
Enter the new car. It’s a 2003 Mazda Protegé. We didn’t really need a mini van anyway at this point in our lives. We figure by the time our family grows large enough for a mini van (if the Lord blesses us) it will be time to trade my Escort in…

Cool New Car

I suppose this is an easy one for me to do since I really hate McDonalds food anyway and already mostly avoided it.
I know we have to pick our battles, but it looks like this boycott is gaining momentum…

I realize that probably every major food chain has some problem or other but maybe this will send a message, and McDonalds is being very open and flaunting this one right in our faces.

I have had the opportunity to meet and work with the Chapmans from time to time in my line of work. They really are a wonderful, Godly family. And I believe the Lord has really used Steven Curtis in many ways, one of which is <a href="http://members.shaohannahshope.org/site/PageServer">Shaohannah’s Hope</a>.
My heart goes out to them during this time and I would ask God’s people to pray for them.

Grieving with the Chapmans

Yes, Frank Pavone is a Roman Catholic Priest, and I’m a protestant. So sue me!

I was made aware of this video thanks to <a href="http://familyreformation.wordpress.com/2008/05/04/why-i-am-pro-life/">Pastor McDonald’s post here</a>. Speaking of Pastor McDonald, I have been blessed by his vigilance as he posts the abortion statistics for Peoria every week.
The wholesale slaughter of these human beings is certainly one of he biggest blights upon our nation today and I fear and tremble at the judgement God must surely deal to this nation!

As you can see by the baby-gaga ticker right below the nav-bar of the site, we are already counting down to when our second baby will be born. Yes, we’re super excited! So, if you are reading this via RSS, get yourself to the site and take a look at the ticker!
In other news, I did away with the links page and added all our links to the side bar. The links page just wasn’t working out the way I had envisioned it. I’ve actually made some other changes to the side bar too, mostly just adding stuff. Be sure to check it out!
